Christmas eve dinner, home-made, prepared by my wife following Italian family traditions. Several days work to make all the dishes! There was a gathering of 16 (eight adults and eight children).

[this is good] Yum! Bet no one went home hungry. LOL
Country, we managed to rescue enough to feed some company over the weekend. She made more than necessary on purpose, and I am glad. It is too much trouble for only one meal!
Is it the feast of Seven Fishes? (I know there are other Italian traditions...but the Feast of Seven Fishes is often the traditional xmas Eve dinner of Italian families) That is an awful lot of prep work....good job and kudos to your wife!!!
It is so nice to hear that some folks still enjoy sharing their food traditions with others. We are being very non-traditional this year, or perhaps we are starting a new tradition. No one is going to spend hours cooking. Everyone is bringing food to share, and I hope most of it will be ready to eat when they arrive. Our group has gotten out of hand for a sit-down meal.
Company is coming tonight, and we will all share the leftovers. I think it will make another nice meal.
On Christmas day itself, we got carry-out Chinese. It was supposed to be the "dinner for two," but really it would have easily served six. (And for only a bit over $20). So we have been eating that for several meals straight. Now I will be glad to have another rush at the Italian.

Thanks, Jamie. Same to you. My wife takes a lot of pride in following her "traditional meal," and everyone does enjoy it.
